Objects of the Everyday

The exhibition at Gallery LAYR Hanok featured the works of 1lstudio, Moonjung Jang, and be formative, each bringing its unique design sensibility into everyday life.

Alongside collaborations with various brands, be formative continues to pursue independent projects that reflect the studio’s own perspective and design language. By designing, making, and finishing each piece by hand, the designers embrace a process that allows the qualities of form and material to emerge naturally. This approach was reflected in the Donggeuran Chair, Semonan Chair, and Stitching Series presented in the exhibition.

For this exhibition, the Semonan Chair was reinterpreted as a bench and presented in a new color in response to the architecture of the hanok, creating a quiet dialogue between contemporary furniture and a traditional space.
